I’ve got the message as below or private space rails tutorial:
"Your workspace is running out of quota. Please make some free space."
I’ve deleted about 5 app. and left only about 5 app but still has this message…
Why I’ve got this message if I have only 5 small app,
even so, I’ve upgrade heroku since it was outdated?
How to get rid from those message?
Is it absolutely need to upgrade(I am a student)?
thanks.
If you’re running a free workspace, you have only 2gb of space, shared with installed apps, maybe you have too many app’s installed on your workspace (the paid version you can use up to 10gb of space and 2.5gb of ram on each workspace)
So, 2 gb is all space that I could have on all workspaces?
For ex I have 5 workspaces and each workspace has approximately
5 app.
Could I get space by deleting some workspaces or some app on it?
Is it possible to see how many space I need to release?
thanks
I’ve got warning on private workspace. And it is strange, since I’ve got
warning, I deleted 5 applications to save space … and still got warning
about not enough space…
I use this space without any warning with those 5 applications present
and now suddenly I have no space even so I’ve deleted 5 applications…
Also I’ve downloaded this space as zip and it show that it has only
56.3 MB not even close to 2gb…
Why I have constant warning about that I am out of space if I far away from reaching limit 2gb?
not only files in workspac folder, but all the files that you’ve created on the vm are counted to the limit.
please see this answer for the instruction for debugging this issue
I’ve use: du -h -t 50M /
and it shown bunch of nix files and then directories that I could no access permission
I also get rid from tmp files as was pointing in and it doesn’t help:I still have warning about not enough space:
Heroku said that updating don’t take much space, though I have no problem with space until updating… But cloud9 outdated version of heroku could not migrate.
I don’t think that I should go back to outdated version heroku to use workspace.
Once again I’ve deleted 6 app. and left only 6 - and I still out of space… and I think that my small app could not take all space.
Would you please help me to use private workspace by cleaning the files that not used or doing something else?
//outdated heroku
heroku --version
heroku-toolbelt/3.43.16 (x86_64-linux) ruby/2.3.0
heroku-cli/5.6.22-f9f7585 (linux-amd64) go1.7.5
You have no installed plugins.
I’ve updated the command to not complain about nix and mnt, which are managed by cloud9.
On your workspace most of space is taken by various gems installed on different ruby versions.
I don’t know how to reduce that. You can try deleting your workspace and creating a new one, but if you run multiple apps using different gems and ruby versions on one workspace, there is a chance you’ll run out of space again, so either do not do that or use a premium workspace.
So, this command show files using space on workspace like
/workspace $ du -h -t 50M /
Do you have a command that show how much space one particular
app on private workspace take?
Though, i could consider to get rid of it or move to free space.
If i update as a student, how much private space can I get and how much should i pay?
thanks.
I’ve already deleted 6 app - and still got message about
not enough space on private workspace…I’ve never got this message
until update heroku…
Also I got the message about no enough space on public workspace where only couple of app.
Is upgrading(paying money) absolutely necessary and I could not anymore to use free space?

So, right now:
I could not use private workspace - because it is not enough space there.
2 I could not use public space because heroku is outdated and I could not migrate to heroku…
3 I could not update my account using education plan since I am a student because I could not complete step 2 (account info -not clickable). Is it bug?
Any suggestion how to proceed?
thanks.
I’ve deleted all apps from workspace rails-new but my new supposed to be empty space shows that 913 MB is already taken even so I’ve restarted it…
Where those number came from and how to make empty space?
Also, I’ve had the same small apps on private space that show that it is running out of quota.
If those 913Mb were added to this space, then I could not create any apps on this workspace and will be automatically out of quota.
thanks.
I’ve tried to work on another worksplace word but it showed that it is out of space.
So, I’ve deleted all apps - but it is still out of space…(see attached)
Once again: why is the workspace
I’ve used your command as below.
I have no app in rails-new workspace and I don’t see any heroku files, but disc still show
that 913 Mb is occupied…
The question is the same:
how to free space and get 2GB ( 2024Mb) instead of 2024Mb-913Mb?
2.How to create the new private space?
I mean, should I delete all apps from private space and recreated the new ones ?
It seems the right way to do but what if the private space after deleting all apps is not 2 GB but less as on other workspaces after deleting all files - then what to do or there is another way to recreate the private space?
thanks.
