Webpack runs slow

#1

I’m using webpack to build my react components, but it has been stuck for the past few minutes not doing anything. On my local machine, it runs fine.

Here is what it says when it finally runs:
Hash: 0bc29e3303f6b742baef
Version: webpack 2.6.0
Time: 1376914ms <-- 22 minutes!

Here is my webpack.config.js:

const path = require('path'),
      webpack = require('webpack');

module.exports = {
	entry: './components/index.js',
	output: {
		path: `${__dirname}/public`,
		filename: 'scripts.js'
	},
	module: {
		loaders: [{
			test: /.js?$/,
			loader: 'babel-loader',
			exclude: /node_modules/,
			query: {
				presets: [
					'latest',
					'react'
				],
				plugins: [
					'transform-class-properties'
				]
			}
		}]
	}
};

Has anybody else noticed or had an issue with webpack running on cloud 9?

Maybe you are running it in release mode, which minifies the files? https://webpack.github.io/docs/cli.html

On my local machine, it runs fine.

The free workspace is slower and has less memory than your local machine.
