I’m trying to work on a Java-8-specific application, and openjdk-8-jdk isn’t in trusty-backports. I’ve tried to upgrade to Xenial to work around this using:
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade sudo apt-get install update-manager-core sudo do-release-upgrade
But the last step runs out of disk quota. Why can’t we get new workspaces that initially run Xenial, now that Trusty is no longer the current LTS release?
Update: I’m currently testing whether
apt-get install apt dpkg is enough instead of
apt-get dist-upgrade. This will be a workaround, but still slower than cloning a Xenial image in the first place. In parallel, I’m also doing this in a blank workspace so that if successful, it can become the template.
