Ruby Issues (new user)

#1

I’m new to the community and am trying to set up a workspace to run Ruby for a programming bootcamp I’m applying to. Every time I attempt to run my program, the text (bash: rails: command not found) shows up on the console. The browser language is set to Ruby and the console at the bottom of the screen is set to Ruby on Rails (default). I’ve tried to restart my browser as well. Can anyone help me figure out what’s wrong?

you might need to install rails first. Since rails is a gem.

Try running:

gem install rails

If that does not work.

Try this:
http://railsapps.github.io/installrubyonrails-ubuntu.html

These are the commands to use:
ruby -v
gem -v
rails -v
If you don’t get a version from each then one or more is not installed.
If you can tell me which workspace did you choose? Ruby or Rails Tutorial?
