Public/private workspaces - webserver access

#1

Hi all,

I have used Cloud9 for a few years in a course I teach on backend development of web apps. It works fantastic except for the following. If the workspace is public then anyone can view the source code, which has lead to some cheating. If the workspace is private then when the developer starts the server then no one can access it. Which sort of defeats the coolness of developing something like a chat app using socketio. Is there a way to keep source code private while allowing access to your web site? I know Cloud9 isn’t for deployment but it would be nice to have other people test what you’ve done.

Thanks (and especially thanks to the Cloud9 development team)

Share dialog allows to control access to ide, preview, and the application separately.
