$PORT and $IP warning

#1

Every time I run my nodejs app, I get a warning message in green that reads:

“You may be using the wrong PORT & IP for your server application.Try passing $PORT and $IP to properly launch your application. You can find more information in our docs”

I am running the via the terminal by running npm start as configured in my package.json.

C9 help state https://docs.c9.io/docs/running-and-debugging-code states that use the run button, but when I do that, I get the following message in the debugger console:

Your code is running at https://voting-app-shawco.c9users.io.
Important: use process.env.PORT as the port and process.env.IP as the host in your scripts!

Debugger listening on port 15454

However, when I run echo $PORT on my terminal, it returns 8080 and echo $IP returns 0.0.0.0.

How do I get this HELP message to go away?

Did you ever manage to make this error go away?? I’ve tried different things with no success so far

This isn’t an error, it’s more of an advisory. If you’re running the app on 0.0.0.0:8080, it should be accessible through the preview window.

I am getting same warning, but I am running my application on port 4000 but I run NGINX in port 8080 with proxy_pass, how to get this message away? It´s bothering me
