Missing mysqli extension?

It seems I’m missing the mysqli extension.

I have upgraded to php7 etc. and everything seemed to work.
I then installed phpmyadmin (phpmyadmin-ctl install), no errors.
I receive an error in my local language when I visit the URL, telling me that mysqli extension is missing.

Google translate:
mysqli expansion is missing. Check your PHP configuration. See our documentation for further information.

How can I install the extension?
I have been searching on Google for a while, but can’t find any help - guess i’m searching for the wrong terms :frowning:

Hope one of you might be able to help me.

, Kenneth

Got it to work.

Just for the record, incase someone else needs it.
This is what worked for me:

sudo apt-get install php-mysql
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

I needed to install 7.1

I also needed to install mcrypt:
sudo apt-get install php-mcrypt
