Manipulating vm.max_map_count

Im just wondering if i am not able to change vm.max_map_count on C9.
recently Im trying to install elasticsearch and when I started it it gives me an error saying that vm.max_map_count is low. so I tried changing it and it says that file is read only.
is there anyway that I can change the value of that?

there is no way to change that from inside of docker container, but you do not need that to run elasticsearch.
It is only a warning, the service doesn’t start because it uses too much memory, and can be run workspaces with 2gb or more ram

Hi harutyun thank you so much for the reply
I also later figured it is because of ram and my workspace is short of it.
So do you suggest me to upgrade my workspace??

thanks again
