I had a workspace blow up doing an NPM install over the 2GB limit causing the workspace to go into lockdown. I deleted the workspace and created another to rectify the situation but now I can’t edit files in any workspaces due to permission errors. How do I get my account reset now that I’m below the 2GB free limit but unable to edit files?
I solved my issue.
I chained a command that included checking out a git repo using root status so the checked out files were owned by Root and not Ubuntu which is the correct user for the IDE view. To resolve this I went to the top of my workspace folder and ran this:
sudo chown -R ubuntu *
I had this same issue, but it turned out all I needed to do was “sudo” when starting up the server.
